How to increase HDL

  1. Orange juice 3 cups daily
  2. Reduce Glycemic Load by reducing the blood sugar. Take whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and fat-free and low-fat dairy products
  3. Choosing Better Fats. Replacing saturated fats with monounsaturated fats can not only help reduce levels of "bad" cholesterol, it may also increase levels of "good" cholesterol
  4. Soy products are low in saturated fats and high in unsaturated fats
  5. Alcohol in Moderation
  6. Aerobic exercise. Moderately intense exercise of at least 30 minutes on most days of the week
  7. Losing weight
  8. Stopping smoking
  9. Walnuts, Olive oil, avocado, flax seed, oats, fiber rich foods,
  10. eliminate trans-fats in your diet. Trans fats are found in many processed foods including cookies, crackers, fried foods and margarine and other vegetable spreads. Check the label for "hydrogenated" fats before buying packaged foods.

Immediate ToDo's

 
1. Get PLAKE test done
2. Low LLD cholesterol and high HLD. LLD should not be of type B.
3. Daily exercise
4. Avoid stress
5. Avoid sugar fat foods such as chips, pasta, rice etc

6. Inflammations can cause heart problems
